Various - Repeat Performance Vol 1 (1980)

From The Lost Record Covers Club
Charisma celebrated it's first 10 years in 1979 and, although known as a rock label, along the way they acquired a varied array of pop hits.  These are captured here.  Various one-hit wonders as Gary Shearston's "I Get A Kick Out Of You" Chris White's "Spanish Wine" - a great Brian Wilson tribute (also see my Chris Rainbow posts) and Bill Lovelady "Reggae For It Now" alongside Genesis "Wardrobe" and "Solsbury Hill" the debut solo from Peter Gabriel.   The name on the label is the only common factor here but it marks a point in their history and includes some interesting one off performances.

  1. Being a Charisma Singles collector, this LP was an essential purchase. The version of 'Liar' included is not the single cut however.
